What this site does
AirQualitySystem is an editorial operation, not a review lab. What informs it is a decade spent following the IAQ category across consumer, prosumer, and light-commercial segments, plus a career working production lines before that. Every guide starts with the reader's actual situation — budget, room size, health concern — and builds outward from published CADR figures, filtration standards, owner reports, and the cost math that separates one tier of equipment from the next.
How we evaluate
- We read manufacturer spec sheets and cross-check claimed CADR, filter ratings, and noise figures against published standards and independent filtration data.
- We weigh thousands of owner reports for patterns — what holds up at year three, what fails quietly, and which complaints repeat across brands.
- We run the cost math: purchase price, filter replacements, energy draw, and the real cost per year of clean air.
- We map each machine to the room size and health concern it actually serves, since the gap is usually the mismatch, not the machine.
- We revise guides as specs change, filters get discontinued, or the tier logic stops holding — no set-and-forget rankings.
